Laminated safety glass
GEWE®-safe
The laminated safety glass GEWE®-safe provides a high level of safety, making it suitable for a variety of application areas. When installing overhead glazing, parapets or floor-to-ceiling glazing, protection against injury or falling pieces is key. Laminated safety glass meets these requirements.
The laminated safety glass GEWE®-safe usually consists of two or more glass panes with interlayers of highly tear-resistant, clear transparent polyvinyl butyral (PVB) films. The glass and the foils are bonded into an inseparable unit in an autoclave under heat and high pressure (EN 12543). In the event of glass breakage, the fragments remain almost completely attached to the PVB films and the pane as a whole remains in the frame. In order to prevent splinters or fragments from falling in the event of breakage, facade glazing is increasingly made of laminated safety glass.
GEWE®-safe can also be used for point-fixed glazing systems - usually consisting of two thermally toughened glasses.
This product not only delivers functional benefits but also retains an aesthetic visual appearance.
In addition to this, the laminated safety glass GEWE®-safe trend uses coloured or digitally printed films to offer more aesthetic and design options.
